Classroom events suspended

Dear students,

I am sure you are also closely following the current situation with regard to incidence figures and the decisions to combat the Corona pandemic.

At the moment, teaching at the university, like so many other things, is "on the lookout" and the possibilities have to be re-evaluated regularly. In this context, we would like to inform you that in view of the rising incidence figures and following Prof. Stengler's communication of 22.10.2020, the Dean's Office of FBW has decided that no face-to-face teaching can take place until further notice. This also corresponds to the Beschluss der MPK vom 28.10.2020, to reduce contacts to a minimum.

For the continuing education programmes in IBWL and MBA, this initially means that until further notice, but at least for November 2020, all courses planned in presence will be converted to a digital form. The lecturers will inform you directly about the changed conditions.

Examinations are exempt from this regulation; they can continue to take place in attendance as planned. This exception exists because there is currently no legally secure way of taking examinations digitally.

If you belong to the at-risk group and are therefore unable to take part in an in-class exam, you can apply for Nachteilsausgleich. Please contact your lecturer and the examination board as early as possible.

The conditions in the rooms are designed in such a way that they comply with the hygiene concept of the university. Due to the special event times, it can also be ensured that the traffic routes in the building offer sufficient opportunity to keep your distance. Should you nevertheless have serious reservations about taking part in an attendance examination in the current situation, please let us know. As things stand, you will have the opportunity to make up up to two exams on the make-up date in March. There are no special requirements for this as of this semester, but in view of the current situation we cannot guarantee that the date can take place.

Please be sure to observe the prescribed hygiene conditions for attendance examinations, as well as the communication from Mr Seeberg dated 29.10.2020 on dealing with Corona diseases, quarantine and contact persons. Please also note the President's communication of 30.10.2020 regarding the extended mask requirement on the entire campus and also during the retreat.

We will re-evaluate these regulations regularly, taking into account the respective current situation and in consultation with the Dean's Office. We will get back to you with a status update by the end of November/beginning of December at the latest.

Kind regards and stay healthy!

Matthias Knoll (Chair of the Examination Board)
